Throughout the year there are different art displays exhibited at the gardens as well as diverse events hosted there. Visit the website to check what events are happening or upcoming.

The Durham Museum

St. Cecilia’s Cathedral

Choose a time to visit during scheduled masses or explore on your own time, one Nebraskan day. The cathedral began as an idea and a drawing in 1905. It wasn’t until 1980 that Saint Cecilia’s Cathedral became a landmark and one of the most outstanding cathedrals in the United States, according to the website.

Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness Park

A unique and interesting attraction, the Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness Park hosts 67 bronze and stainless-steel artworks by Kent Ullberg of Corpus Christi, Texas. The artworks are a monument to wildlife; they contain three bulls, several yearling bulls, two cows with their calves, and Canada geese in flight. The works are incorporated to the city around them, and placed perfectly for passerby to engage with.

General Crook House Museum

This home is authentically restored and was originally owned by General George Crook at Fort Omaha. The home was built in 1879, and it now depicts what life was like for a commanding office living the frontier life in the 1880s. Make a day of it, and explore the book and gift shops, exhibits, and library and archives facility.

Pioneer Courage Park

Omaha is home to a surprising amount of art sculpture parks. Pioneer Courage Park is home to creations by Blair Buswell of Highland, Utah, and Ed Fraughton of South Jordan, Utah. The sculptures are of four pioneer families and their covered wagons heading westward from Omaha.
