Next time your child needs to burn off some energy, bring them to one of Nebraska’s vibrant play centers. Not only are these places for unleashing imagination, but they can be educational spaces as well. Whether your child is intuitive, creative or athletic, the awesome play centers of Nebraska have something for your little one. Here are our favorites.
If you’re looking for a way to spend the day with the children, visit the Children’s Museum. They have 10 different exhibits for kids to interact with. They include a Construction Zone, a Grocery Store, a Vet’s Office, a Hospital or Doctor’s Office, a Puppet Theater and Performance Stage, and more.
There are different events kids can attend at Approach Climbing Gym. Otherwise you can purchase a day pass for them, and they can utilize the full-service climbing gym open sessions. Plan ahead though because the first visit requires all climbers to participate in the First Time Visitor Orientation, which prepares visitors for the rules and informs them of the necessary precautions.

Sometimes it’s fun for parents to bring their kids places where everyone can enjoy themselves—including the ‘rents. The MARK is a bowling alley, with 40 lanes, as well as an arcade, a host to laser tag, and a full-service restaurant. Let the kids explore and play games while the adults order a “treat yourself” meal.
Lost in Fun can be enjoyed all year long. There’s Ballocity, the Fun Maze, inflatable jumpers, a foam pit, a laser maze, and much more activities for kids of all ages. Bring the neighbors and the cousins and remember—adults enter for free!

While this play area is meant for children eight years and older, it’s still considered a kids’ play center. There are nine large virtual reality stations where kids can reserve a spot with as many as four people and experience more than 50 games at that station. Each station has a VR system, a 55-inch 4K TV, and a couch. Time to play in style.
Taking a different tack, perhaps weekly dance classes or a fun dance session is the way to your child’s heart. The staff at Nebraska Dance claims on their website that, “It’s our honor to invest in your child’s dance education and see them develop into amazing, confident individuals with love and passion for all that they do.” Dance lessons are a great way to rid a child of excess energy while still learning a skill.
Kids Park offer daycare programs at their center where “no walls” equals more fun. The floor plan at Kids Park is open, which gives children the freedom to choose instead of being herded into a specific area. Use Kids Park for birthday events, daycare, back-up care, or preschool education.

Do you have several children full of energy, who also have several friends who are full of energy? Bring them to Papio Fun Park, and let them loose on the Go-Karts, Mini Golf, Batting Cages, and a 6,000-square-foot indoor facility. The indoor park has Laser Tag, Spaceball, Jumpshot, and Arcade Games. Be careful, you may just might end up having fun yourself!

Similar to Papio Fun Park, but slightly more adult-oriented (by that we mean there’s food and drink menus), Big Apple Fun Center is a family entertainment center. Make a reservation for a party, or call to reserve a lane to bowl in. Visit the website to check out any daily specials that might be on offer.
